What We Do in the Local Community

The Smith Family

The Smith Family is an independent Australian non-profit children’s charity whose goal is to help the disadvantaged by providing tools and resources for participation in society. Established on Christmas Eve in 1922, the main mission of The Smith Family – via its partners and volunteers – is to create opportunities for young Australians in need by providing long-term support and means for participation in education. Michelin Australia has supported The Smith Family for over a decade by bestowing an annual corporate donation. In addition to the annual corporate donation, employees at Michelin Australia help The Smith Family by volunteering their time and resources in various Smith Family events and charity auctions.

The Helping Hands program

As a part of Michelin’s global vision (to serve sustainable mobility), Michelin Australia employees participate in the Helping Hands program through the Helping Hands Australian branch. More than just a team building or training exercise, participants in the Helping Hands program build prosthetic hands that are donated to amputee landmine victims throughout the developing world.
